You have the choice as to whether you wish to communicate with critical data's Backup Server via [http] or [https]. 'https' uses 'SSL' (Secure Socket Layer) for secure communication between Web Browsers and the servers with which they communicate.
For security purposes, we recommend using 'https' to communicate with critical data's Backup Server by selecting the [https] option.
The [Address] field shows the name of the backup server to which critical backup will connect to authenticate your username and password. This must be;
"backup.critical-data.net.au"*
* without the quotes.
If you need to connect to the server through a proxy, just enter your proxy settings in the [Proxy Setting] section. For [SOCKS] proxy, both v4 and v5 without user authentication are supported.
Before you can use critical backup, you have to be authenticated by the critical data Backup Server first. The logon dialog shown below checks your access to the backup server by submitting the username and password you provide to the backup server.
